America: The Greatest Country on Earth?

When you think of the United States of America, what do you think of?  Do you think of the land of the free?  Do you think of the land of opportunity?  Do you think of the land with a beacon to shine as an example for other nations?  Do you think of good healthcare or gainful employment opportunities?  Do you think America is a country of tolerance?  Do you think of freedom?  Do you think of honesty and truth?

Allow me to tell you a very short story.  I have a friend, and I will call her Stephanie to protect her real identity.  She was offered a job interview for a very prestigious company through Manpower, a temporary service.  This was a direct hire assignment.  Stephanie passed the interview questionnaire for Manpower.  Manpower set up the interview with the direct hiring company.  She completed that interview.  This company was due to hire within one week of the interview process.  Manpower told Stephanie they will call her regarding the outcome, regardless if she received the position or not.  Forty-eight hours went past and no phone call from Manpower.  She decided to call Manpower on the third day and they said they will let her know the outcome.  Twenty-four hours later, Manpower did not call her.  The next day, Stephanie called Manpower and left a voicemail message.  According to the hiring company, they were to let Manpower know one way or another within forty-eight hours of the interview.  Here it is seventy-two hours later and Manpower still had not called her back regarding the outcome.  I told Stephanie to cheer up and it may not be for you to have it.  Besides, if Manpower did not have the decency of keeping their word regarding a phone call, why would you want to work for them anyway?  The majority of Americans refuse to return a call or a text message because they are afraid of confrontation, or they are afraid of hurting the other person.  I thought Americans were supposed to be honest and fair?

I remember a situation in northern Illinois where an unarmed man was shot in the back three times by police officers in a church in front of children.  Can you imagine what went thought those kids mind?  Regardless if the suspect was black or white, it should not have been done.  There are other documented cases of people getting away with murder for killing unarmed citizens, as well as the police getting away with murder for killing unarmed citizens.  These are citizens of the United States of America and they are treated like their lives mean nothing.  People who have special needs are killed by police because they cannot comply with their instructions as fast as the police want them to comply.  It is a known fact by a study conducted on or around November 27, 2017, twenty-one percent of adults read below a fifth grade level and nineteen percent of high school graduates cannot read at all.  Thirty-two million people in the United States cannot read at all and the police expect EVERYONE to follow their instructions?  I thought America was a land of tolerance?

Many people talk about pulling the race card.  Unless you lived or walked in the shoes of those less fortunate for employment, credit, or other things that are guaranteed by those of European descent, you cannot say someone is pulling a race card.  When Obama, a man of mixed race, was running for president, lots of people of European descent said “I want my country back.”  Really?  I thought America gives opportunities to all citizens?  After all, look at Arnold Schwarzenegger.  He is an Austrian-born citizen who gain American citizenship and became the Governor of California.  It is known that his father was a member of Hitler’s army.  If America can forgive the Nazis and elect a person of Austrian descent without saying they want their country back, why was it so hard to understand an American citizen of mixed race to be in office?

A lot of people want to say we came a long way.  In some areas, we did and in other areas we have not.  Sure, we have Wi-Fi, cellular phones, and many other useful gadgets, but when it comes to race, we can never get over that hump.  There are news anchors that have gotten fired for racial comments.  There are athletes who have said racial comments.  There are owners of professional baseball and basketball teams that had said racial comments.  People profile other people as black thugs.  Wendy Bell, a Pittsburgh newscaster, said “You needn’t be a criminal profiler to draw a mental sketch of the killers who broke so many hearts.  They are young black men, likely teens or in their early 20s.  They have multiple siblings from multiple fathers and their mothers work multiple jobs.  These boys have been in the system before.  They’ve grown up there.  They know police.  They’ve been arrested.”  My main question to her would be what about the shootings in Columbine, the killings of church members by Dylann Roof, the Las Vegas massacre by Stephen Paddock; and the many hearts they have broken?  What about Dylann Roof who was taken alive and received food from Burger King after his church shootings?  Yet, the police had the nerve to make Dylann wear a bullet-proof vest.

It is very sad that citizens of the United States cannot get along with each other, yet we are considered the greatest country on earth?  I think my above paragraphs prove my disagreement.

Don’t Be Upset…

We heard lots of stories from others regarding race this, and race that.  We heard lots of people saying that darker skinned people are using the “race” card when things happen.  We heard how others rally behind police officers when they are shot or killed, yet nothing is mentioned about the lives lost by police.  I am not against the police that honestly serve the communities and connect with people in communities.  I am not against the police that have to honestly defend their life in a situation that is life and death.  What I am against are the innocent killings and the lies other people give to make the police believe they have to destroy a family’s life.

I saw a YouTube video of a SWAT officer that shot and killed  a seven year old girl with a bullet directly into and through her head.  On this YouTube video, the SWAT officer did not answer why he did it or what was his intentions as he broke down the door in this home… a home raided to where only a grandmother and her seven year old granddaughter was occupying.  The gentleman that was doing this video provided information that was released by the American Psychological Association in regards to how police see dark skinned people.  After some research, I had found an article that tells how police view dark skinned people and how lighter skinned women view dark skinned people.  This came out in March of 2014 and here we sit in 2016 with the same issues going on.  I believe you should read the article for yourselves.  It is a good source of information.  Please share.

Really? Not again!!!

There are a lot of people always say America is the best country ever. People say there’s no racism. People say America is just for everyone. No one wants to talk about racism or how it affects us as “Americans.” No one understands what it is like to be of a darker pigmentation in America. The constitution states ALL men, not some men, but ALL men are created “equal.”  Is that true in the eyes of the law? Even the Governor of Minnesota said this was race motivated. My take… this police officer is not going to do any time for this act.

I read were a police officer in New York was convicted by his peers (the jury), but the judge made the sentence where the police officer did not serve any jail time. He only receive house arrest and probation. The person that officer had killed cannot tell his side of the story. That person cannot defend himself in a court of law. Police officers have bullet-proof vests and yet they are afraid of their life of someone who does not have a weapon. Even so, the military don’t wear bullet-proof vest and we are deployed in some of the most dangerous areas known to man. I would love to see a police officer deployed in a “hot zone” where he or she cannot wear a bullet-proof vest. I bet they will shot everyone in sight.

Incidents like this were known in the southern states, and now they are being done by police officers in the northern states. Videos that show the truth, yet not admissible in court, or the police get the videos first before it can be released. If the police officer did nothing wrong, then why are they so much in a rush to obtain the video before it stream live?

Sooner or later, America will pay for their sins and those that had gotten away with so much will have to be judged by God Himself, one day. I would love to be a fly on the wall because no matter what excuse a person gives of taking a life that is not just, would it be the correct answer?

What I Find Interesting…

During my talks with others, even those on YouTube, and watching interviews, I cannot help but to notice something of interest.

Our last names are surnames that makes the majority of our nationalities.  When I see a last name of Beggs, I know that is a German name.  However, this person is from Great Britain.  He considers himself as English, not German and not German English, but just English.  There are people of Africa decent that say they are English, not African English, but just English.  Other nationalities of people in England say the same, no matter their last name.  People in America will say they are German, Italian, or Irish.  They will not say they are just American.

This is interesting because England had slaves and they had freed their slaves way before America even considered it, yet we are suppose to be the best country in the world.  Even so, black soldiers gotten paid less money in the military than white soldiers during the Civil War, yet we are suppose to be the best country in the world.  Why is this so?  Why are we so closed-minded?  I have heard women say they want that white knight on a white horse riding in the sunset.  Out of curiosity, and to pick the brain, I asked why does the knight have to be white on a white horse?  Most women say white is pure and black is evil.  I defend by asking if they had ever seen Star Wars, Return of the Jedi?  Luke is a good guy, yet dressed in all black when he met his father.  It is in our heads to state color first instead of just saying what we desire.  Look at President Obama.  Lots of people say his is our first black president.  I disagree.  He is our first biracial president as his mother is white (German decent).  When you call him black, just like others do me, you are only looking half of what we are, not all of us.  Even so, why can’t we just be Americans?

People say they are Christians or they believe in “their” God.  Do they?  Do they believe in their God because if so, would they be the way they are if God was sitting with them or standing right beside them?

Judgment day… a day some may fret.  However, why fret IF you are doing good by each other?

The Struggle Continues…

August 29, 2015

Watching Inside edition this evening after the Chicago Bears game, I was deeply moved about two things.

1. Napa Valley Wine Train Tours kicked off 11 women of African descent due to, what they call, laughing too much. According to information provided, the person who worked on the train escorted 11 women of African descent off the train at a stop where police were called and waiting for them. Other non African descent customers said it was not fair because there were others that laughed and acted the same way, if not worse, yet were not approached. Why does this bothers me? Because the company issued an apology and will make their employees go through diversity training. Can we conclude if this was done by a man or woman of African descent against European women, this person would be fired and not recommended for diversity training. People say we are created equal, but we are not treated equally. Nothing conflicts me more than those who say they are Christians who continuously judge others when the chosen people were not Europeans, but Israelis. No wonder why I stopped going to church.

2. Police officers caught on camera trying to make drivers buy tickets to a police function or he will take their vehicle for not being registered. Again, this is evident on a cell phone video, yet they only get desk duty or some other duty while the incidents are investigated through Internal Affairs. Really? What is there to investigate when the proof it right on camera or video?

We live in a world where we call bad good and good bad. We life in a world where people judge those of African descent, or even judging those that are of mixed race and receive b.s. apologies because they got busted or found out during such things. It is a shame where people of African descent has to prove themselves a worthy employee or a worthy friend almost five times more than those of European descent.

I believe not all police officers are bad or do negative things. Just like people, a few officers give the good officers a bad name, just like a few people of African descent give us good ones a bad name; and just like a few European descent people would give the good ones a bad name.

Fair or Unfair?

Fair and Unfair – you decide and WHY have you came up to this decision?  (Please, don’t disrespect others)

police officer Darren Wison will NOT indicted for the shooting death of an unarmed Michael Brown, who had his hands up, six times in MO – and you wonder why we don’t like you?  I use police is a lower case because anyone that shoot and kill an unarmed person does not deserve to be called a Police Officer.

As I quote Chronicles of Narnia –

“And you wonder why we don’t like you!”

Something of Interest

It was conveyed to me, from a reliable sourse, that there are more black people getting shot by police since 2008/2009 than blacks being lynched since the Civil War.  Isn’t it ironic that this started happening AFTER the election of President Obama?  One thing I love (not) is how others can call him a black man.  He is not black, but bi-racial.  Is that hard to understand?  He has a German mother, who is white and an African father.  I too am bi-racial and get very offended and upset by others calling me black, or try to make me identify myself as black, when I have white culture in me as well.  It is the same as the term “African Americans” to describe black people.  I dislike the use of that term for blacks.  Why?  There are South Africans, that are white.  They too are African Americans.  Just like people from Egypt are called Egyptians, but they are Africans.  Either way it goes, all of Africa are Africans (South Africa, Egypt, Libya, etc.).

As I think about life in America, I think of how racist this country really is.  Most people refuse to talk about race, saying we are better since we have a black (but I call him bi-racial) president in the white house.  Most republicans talk about they want their country back and he is an Arab and things of this sort.  He was the one that got Bin Laden, not Bush. Bush wanted to do what his father could not do, which was kill Hussein, now we have a greater thread – Isis.  Funny how Hussein kept Isis at bay and killed Isis members until his death by his own people, which signify Isis want to gain control of the region. Now, here we are today right..

To be back on point – it is a shame police officers get away with murder.  Shooting of innocent people (unarmed) is something police has been able to get away with for YEARS; yet they will arrest you for shooting other people.  It is a shame that some cops make it bad for all cops, which is the same as cops judge others, yes?  They judge one black person or mentally challenge person as that is the whole group.

I heard about the Utah gentleman that gotten shot and killed.. shot in the back by police officers.  He had an afro and was not of fair skin.  After the murder, the mother, who is white, said if her son was 100 percent white, the cops would not have shot him, but because he looks black, they shot first and apologize later.  Who does this remind you of… George Zimmerman, maybe?

Racism used to occur a lot in the south, and now it is occurring a lot in the northern states now.  The statue of Liberty and the national anthem states, “land of the free and the home of the brave.”  Is it?  Are we really free?  Cops choose to be judge and executioner, even in states that does not support the death penalty.  As a former military person, I have conflict of how this country view me and appreciate the blood and sweat I have suffered for it; just to be called names and constantly looked at as I go shopping in stores.  Being of mixed race is just as bad as being black in society as we are judged as such.

We are good enough to play basketball for Team USA.  We are good enough to box (boxing) for Team USA.  We are even good enough for track and field for Team USA; but we are not good enough to be Americans AFTER we bring medals to the land of America.  They are being treated like military veterans injured in combat, lost limbs, and returned to America – rotten and cruel; often called names.  Funny how people say to me, as the movie of Tuskegee Airmen have shown as well – why do I want to fight for and willing to die for a country that thanks me by calling me “nigger.”  My answer, I really don’t know.  I have family members that are all former military, and I guess I have to keep that legacy alive, but that is a valid point.  Society only see black, white, and Latin.  Society don’t believe there is a such thing as bi-racial people.

Are we Americans when the mood suites you?

Police Officers – Are They Hated?

Why do most inner cities hate police officers (yes, hate, not dislike)?  I have four words for you … Eric Gardner and Mark Barmore.

Regarding Eric Gardner, he was chocked out by police officers.  The person that recorded the illegal act was arrested.  This shown me that police wants the power to do what they want, when they want, to whomever they want; but most of their victims are from the inner cities.  Because of this, Eric Gardner’s death is ruled a homicide.  The funny thing is chockeholds are illegal in New York state and other states.  So, if this is illegal, why did the police use this and why aren’t they arrested yet?

In the case of Mark Barmore, he was shot in the back, fleeing from Rockford, Illinois Police, unarmed, in a church in front of a lot of children.  Can you see these children would not respect a police officer and would more likely be violate against police officers? Not only was Mark Barmore shot once, but multiple times as there are entry wounds in his back.  The officer was never arrested, but receive a slap on the hand.

You know, the police want to be trusted by everyone.  Race does not matter, sexual preference does not matter, and age does not matter.  Their logos on their vehicles and motto for years are “protect and serve.”  How can they protect and serve when they have a badge and a service weapon to break the law whenever they feel like it?

“Are we Americans when the mood suites you?”  This country is to be the home of the brave and the land of the free, but is it?  Is everyone free or are only select neighborhoods free?

I remember speaking to some police officers and most of them have told me they were bullied while they were younger.  Could this be based on revenge?  I also remember back in the earlier times of America, most police and other officials were a part of the Klu Klux Klan.  Are they still alive and well in the police force today?  Klu Klux Klan, an organization that base their beliefs on keeping America for the white Christian man.  A Christian man that persecute Jewish people as well.  So, how can they be a Christian when Jesus Christ is Hebrew, not white.  The Klu Klux Klan are persecuting those that goes with their own belief, if they are a true Christian.

Police…individuals that are suppose to protect the citizens of all American cities and counties.  Police…individuals that are to serve the community of American cities and counties.  We are to be united.  Isn’t that what the Pledge of Allegiance is about…”one nation under God…”  ONE nation under God, not many nations under God, and we cannot even get this right.

America, one of the most judgmental countries in all of the world, yet we believe we are better than everyone.  Before we can show the world we are better than everyone, we have to lead by example and better America FIRST.

Don’t take my word for it, look it up for yourself.  You may be amazed of the findings.

America the Twisted?

I remember a story in a northern city, in a northern state where an unarmed suspect was shot in the back three times in a church in front of kids.  This suspect was black.  Can you imagine what must have went through the minds of kids seeing someone unarmed shot in the back three times and killed, while the police officers were not persecuted?  Those kids would grow up not respecting the law because all they know about the law is the law (police) is they seek and execute the unarmed, not protect and serve.

Now we get on with race, a topic that Americans hate to talk about.  Race has been a big issue in America, even though no one wants to admit it.  When the police can ignore a state statute that deals with hate crimes, which is punishable by incarceration, to pursue other crimes that they can shoot or abuse the innocent.

Being a Boston Bruins fan, most people asks me how can I be one when they played Montreal and they had racists slurs at a player on the Canadians team while playing in Boston.  A fan is a fan, regardless of who it is, but the organization itself drafted its first black hockey player to ever play in the United States in the 50’s.

Isn’t it funny how Americans can accept a black person or a minority person when they take a bullet for the country, yet, they are still not considered equals?  Isn’t it funny how you can talk highly about black people and others just assume you are black as well, though you may or may not be?  Isn’t it funny how people can say they are Christian, yet they judge Jews and hate people of other races?  Isn’t it funny how some things we use everyday are things that are invented by blacks.  QUIZ…What is the one thing we come in contact with everyday of our lives that we use to help control the flow of traffic, yet if you run one of these, not only can you be in a crash, but can be punishable by a traffic ticket?  THE TRAFFIC LIGHT.

Jesus Christ is not white, as much as people would hate not to believe.  Jesus is a Jew, born in Bethlehem, yes?  What color was the original Hebrews?  How can He had blue eyes?  People get photos of what they believe Jesus to be, yet don’t know the first thing about Jesus.  People want to hate Israeli people, but don’t they know Jesus Christ, our Savior, was born a Jew?

They say America is the land of the free – is it?  Society say what is good and what is wrong and we are to believe that instead of going by our spirit of Christ.  One day, we all will be judged, and I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear some of the answers given, when every knee shall bow and confess Jesus is Lord, an Israeli by HIS choice.  America, a country still divided and even more after the election and re-election of President Obama

You are drowning.  You cannot swim.  You are suffering.  You are near death.  A hand reaches out that is of another race – would you grab it, or suffer a tragic death because of your pride?

Is This Really 2014??

I read something that really disturbed me on yahoo news.  This article was posted July 2014, so it is fairly new.  This article is about a New York news paper with the heading of “The Nigger in the White House.”  Nigger was covered with only the N and r visible.  Really?  I mean really?  2014?

The origin of “nigger” means an ignorant person, which is from the dictionaries of old.  Then the term went on to describe Nigerian people, but some could not spell Niger, thus spelling it Nigger.  In the dictionaries now, that term means a raciest slur.  How would white people like it if the title for Bush was “The Cracker in the White House?”  I don’t think that would go over well.

James Collier believes the reason for this headline is because the right hate President Obama so much, they state it is because he is black.  I would agree to a degree because if you search history, no other Democratic President has been more disrespected than President Obama.  Even those in McCain supports believes President Obama is Arabian, which McCain did say Obama is a Christian man.  People tend to judge names with the nationalities and whatever society calls it, people embrace it.   The West View News refuse to comment on this headline, nor did they post it on their website.  This is not the first time Collier has been in trouble with the same word he had posted this month.  His literature was taken off the shelves around the city.  Don’t believe me, read it for yourself:

http://news.yahoo.com/newspaper-runs-headline-referring-to-president-obama-as-n-word-003206434.html.”

Whatever happened to what America stands for?  The land of the Free?  The Civil War proves this theory of the home of the Free incorrect.  Yes, if you are white or European, even Asian (Japanese, Chinese, etc.), the piece of the American pie awaits.  The Civil War… a war that had over million of hot lead and metal penetrate the bodies of those called for their selected armies, rather Union or Confederate.  Senseless deaths of those who are called … Americans, in which who were separated between Northern and Southern states.  A country divided like Korea.

Society see what they desire to see and judge what is right and what is not.  Society says President Obama is black because his father is black.  If you want to be technical, he is African because his father is from African, not just black.  However, his mother is white, therefore, making him of mixed race.  Society does not view his mother, only his father, calling him black.  This is the same in my experiences.  I am of mixed race myself and my mother has always told me I should recognize ALL nationalities within me, not just the black.  I look upon myself as other, but society say I am black, disregarding the white race that is within me as well.  When I date or go out with a woman who is black, I don’t get looks because society labels me as black.  When I date or go out with a white woman, society frowns and judge us both, calling us names; refusing to accept the fact that I am of mixed race.  Who made society the boss in saying what is right, what is wrong, and what nationality or race is better than the other?

Society does not teach that most things you may use today exists due to black people.  Things such as the Ice Cream Scoop – the fun making getting ice cream of the carton easier, the Traffic Light – to allow traffic their rightful turn while traveling through major intersections and highways, the Super Soaker Water Gun – something that is used on hot summer days to squirt at each other with cool water for fun, the Potato Chip – a food that was actually invented on accident, the Open-Heart Surgery – the first one was done to save the life of a stabbing victim and the same types of surgeries that have saved a lot of other people both black and white people, the Light Bulb – yes Edison invented it but Latimer perfected it making the bulb lasts a lot LONGER, the one that is of a depressed state… slavery – which made America rich from buying machinery and owning what is really called “property” not people; and the Blues – something that most every person from one point in time listens to which was developed while singing in the fields by black people.  Is it safe to say black people really build America from the times of slavery, yet never received any type of compensation for their work.  There are much more.
